| 3 large | eggs |
| 1 1/4 c | water |
| 1/4 c | vegetable oil |
| 1 c | carnation original malted milk powder |

CHOCOLATE MALT BUTTERCREAM FROSTING: |

| 1 stick | butter, softened |
| 1/2 c | vegetable shortening |
| 1/2 c | carnation original malted milk powder |
| 2 Tbsp | cocoa powder |
| 1/2 tsp | vanilla |
| 3 Tbsp | milk |
| 2 c | powdered sugar |
| malted milk balls (like whoppers candies) for garnish, optional | |

Directions
Preheat oven according to cake mix package directions for cupcakes.
Prepare chocolate cake mix with eggs, water, and oil as package directs. Mix well. Add malt powder, folding in by hand.
Spoon batter into cupcake wrappers placed in a cupcake pan and bake according to cake mix package directions. Watch cupcakes and test with a toothpick when they are nearly done. Do not over-bake.While cupcakes are cooling prepare frosting. Combine all of the ingredients and beat well with a mixer. Frosting should be fluffy and easy to spread.
Spread or pipe frosting onto COOLED cupcakes, garnish with a whole malted milk ball.
