Ingredients

1 c
all purpose flour
2/3 c
granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
cinnamon
1/4 tsp
salt
1/2 c
milk
dash of cloves
4 medium
pears (2 cups) or one 16 oz can drained and chopped
1/2 c
chopped pecans, optional
3/4 c
brown sugar
1/4 c
softened butter or margarine
3/4 c
boiling water

Directions Step-By-Step

In a large bowl stir together flour,sugar, baking powder , cinnamon, salt and cloves.
Add milk and beat by hand until smooth.

stir in pears and nuts. Turn into ungreased 2 quart casserole.

In separate bowl combine brown sugar, butter and boiling water stir to mix. slowly and evenly pour over batter.

Bake at 375 degrees for approximately 45 minutes. server warm with Ice cream, whipped topping or plain
