Basic Lemon Bundt Cake

I have a friend who said they wished they had a good, basic lemon cake recipe that tasted like real lemons and not just a yellow cake mix (her words!).

I found this recipe online (allrecipes) and added a little more lemony goodness to it.

Ingredients

CAKE

1 c
butter, softened
2 c
sugar
4
eggs
1 1/2 tsp
lemon extract
1 1/2 tsp
vanilla
1 c
juice of 3 lemons + milk to make 1 cup total
3 c
flour
2 tsp
baking powder
1 Tbsp
lemon zest (i used zest of 3 lemons)

GLAZE

1/4 c
lemon juice
1 Tbsp
water
1/2 tsp
lemon extract
3/4 c
powdered sugar
zest of 1 lemon

Directions Step-By-Step

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Generously grease bundt pan.

Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, combining well after each egg. Add in extracts. Combine flour and powder. Add to sugar mixture 1 cup at a time, alternating with milk/lemon juice. Stir in zest.

Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 60-70 minutes until wooden pick inserted comes out clean. Cool in pan pan for 10 minutes before inverting on pan/wire rack to cool completely.

Prepare glaze by combining all ingredients together until smooth. Drizzle over smooth cake and pucker up!!!
