Apple Dapple Cake

This cake has been made in my kitchen for decades. It is one of my family favorites. It gets better with age. A few days of soaking in the glaze brings more flavor. You can heat it up in the microwave...etc.. Add what nuts you like and I have made it with many different apples.

Ingredients

1 1/2 c
oil
2 c
sugar
3 large
eggs
2 tsp
vanilla extract
3 c
plain flour
1 tsp
salt
1 tsp
baking soda
3 c
fresh yellow apples peeled, cored sliced
1 1/2 c
peacans, chopped
1 c
dark brown sugar
1/4 c
milk
1 stick
margarine

Step-By-Step

1Heat oven to 325 degrees. Mix together oil, sugar, eggs, vanilla, flour, salt, soda apples, and pecans. Bake in a 9X13 inch pan for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Remove from oven and make glaze. Pour glaze over while cake is still hot.

2For Glaze, combine in saucepan the brown sugar, milk and margarine. Boil (medium) for 3 minutes. Serve with Cool Whip...
