Ingredients For amish filled shortcake

1/2 clard (you can use crisco, margarine or butter)

2 csugar

1egg
-
1 tspeach: salt and vanilla

1 1/2 cmilk

3 cflour
-
2 tspbaking powder

1 1/2 ptpie filling (cherry or apple works well)
- CRUMBS

1/2 coatmeal, uncooked
-
1/2 cbrown sugar, firmly packed
-
1/2 cflour
-
1/4 clard or butter
How To Make amish filled shortcake

1Cream together lard, sugar, egg and salt. Add the dry ingredients alternating with the milk, until all is blended. Pour 1/2 of mix in a greased and floured cake pan, cover this the pie filling, then the last of the mix.

2in a bowl blend all the crumbs ingredients and crumble over top of mix. Bake at 350 until done 25-35 minutes. Serve warm or cold, with or without ice cream.
