Chocolate Buttermilk Frosting

- 1/3 C. Butter (or margarine)
- 4 1/2 C. Sifted powdered sugar (divided)
- 2 oz. Unsweetened chocolate (melted and cooled)
- 1/4 C. Buttermilk (or milk)
- 1 1/2 tsp. Vanilla
1In a medium bowl beat 1/3 C Butter (or margarine) till fluffy. Slowly beat in 2 cups sifted powdered sugar. Slowly beat in 2 squares (2 ounces) unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled, 1/4 cup of buttermilk (or milk), and 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla. Slowly beat in 2 to 2 1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar to make frosting of spreading consistency.
