I usually don't eat granola because it is so calorie dense. But when I saw a recipe for making it on Snack Girl, I decided to try it. The recipe didn't make a huge batch, and it was low in fats and sugar.

It is delicious! I think it will be a winner with my grandchildren.

Stove Top

Ingredients

1 c
old-fashioned oats
1/2 c
chopped nuts, any kind
1 Tbsp
butter
1 Tbsp
agave syrup or honey
pinch
salt
1/4 c
golden raisins
1/2 - 1 tsp
pumpkin pie spice

Step-By-Step

1Heat a frying pan over medium heat.
Add oatmeal and nuts.

2Stir the oatmeal and nuts for 5-8 minutes until they are toasted. Watch the mixture carefully so it doesn't burn.

3After the toasting, add the butter to the middle of the frying pan and stir until it is melted and mixed into the oats.

4Add the 1/2-1 tsp pumpkin pie spice, and stir it into the mixture.

5Now add the agave syrup or honey and stir throughout the mixture.

6Add the pinch of salt and raisins. Stir.

7Let cool and store in an airtight container

8Note: Just think of the add-in possibilities: other dried fruit, coconut, marshmallows, mini chips, etc. Just know that some might not be healthy!
