I made this recipe for my Momma on Mother's Day last year! She is my best friend and my cooking mentor so I know she's gonna love this Southern brunch :) These chocolate waffles are rich and moist and the sweet cream cheese glaze and crunchy pecan topping makes them a decadent and delicious meal that any mother would love!

So sorry to disappoint everyone but this is not Red Velvet. It's a probably a yummy chocolate waffle turned red. But true Red Velvet is a distinct flavor. This recipe has way too much cocoa, no buttermilk and no vinegar. :(

I'll try this with a waffle batter recipe as well as gel color. Looking forward to the taste test, thanks so much!
