Sweet Savory Smoked Sausage Crostini

I love experiment in my kitchen which I do every day. One day, I found out that mayonnaise and orange marmalade are perfect match. Also I found out that smoked sausage goes very well with those too. I had a loaf of Italian bread so decided to make crostini with these ingredients. To make the taste better, I made garlic bread and added parmesan cheese to add more savory flavor. My husband loved so much that he ate more than half of the loaf by himself!

loaf of italian bread, 15 oz.
links of smoked skinless turkey sausages (total 14 oz.)
sweet onion, peeled
cloves garlic, peelded
8 Tbsp
olive oil, divided
4 Tbsp
grated parmesna cheese
4 Tbsp
1/2 c
orange marmalade
4 Tbsp
lemon juice
2 Tbsp
minced fresh italian parsley
black pepper to taste


1Cut the Italian bread into half horizontally.
2Chop onion and smoked sausages then put into a large bowl. Add parmesan cheese and 4 tablespoons of olive oil to the bowl. Mix to combine.
3In another bowl, mix together orange marmalade and lemon juice.
4Grate garlic cloves and put into another bowl with 4 tablespoons of olive oil. Brush the garlic oil on cut side of each halved bread. Then spread the orange marmalade mixture evenly, put sausage mixture and mayonnaise (with spoon drop the mayonnaise) evenly and sprinkle black pepper over the top. Place both breads on a large rimmed baking sheet and bake in preheated 400 degrees F oven for about 10 minutes until the breads are nicely crisp and lightly brown.
5Take the baking sheet out of the oven and place one bread on a cutting board. Sprinkle Italian parsley over the top and cut the bread into eight. Repeat this with the other bread.
