1Scalded milk Pour into big bowl and add shortening and sugar. Cool to luke warm. sprinkle yeast into milk mixer and stir lightly to dissolve.
2Add egg and 2 cups flour and beat throughly add enough more flour to make soft dough
3Turn dough out on lightly flour cloth or board cover with bowl and let rise for 10 min.
4Knead until smooth and sating Place dough in a greased bowl and turn to grease top. cover with damp cloth and put in warm place to rise until double ( about 1 1/2 hrs) punch down and shape as desired . for a finer textured bread punch down and let rise again in the bowl.before shaping . the second rising won't take as long ( about 40 min)
