Overnight French Toast

|1||loaf french bread, sliced|
|1 1/2 c||milk|
|1 1/2 c||half and half|
|1 tsp||vanilla extract|
|1 c||brown sugar, packed|
|1 c||pecans, chopped|
|1/2 c||butter or margarine, softened|
|2 Tbsp||maple syrup|
For the toast: Arrange bread in a lightly greased 13x9 inch baking dish and set aside.
Beat remaining ingredients together; pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
The next morning, combine topping ingredients and spread over bread.
Bake for 45-55 minutes at 350 degrees. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
