Ingredients

2 Tbsp
shortening
2 c
self rising flour
1 c
sugar
1 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
salt
2 tsp
orange peel, grated
juice from one orange
1 c
cheddar cheese, grated
1
egg, beaten
1/2 c
walnuts, chopped

Step-By-Step

1Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease loaf pan.
2Cut shortening into flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and peel. Add water to juice to measure 3/4 cup; blend in cheese and egg.
3Gold in cranberries and nuts. Bake in prepared pan 60 - 70 minutes. Let loaf stand 8 hours before serving.
