Auntie's Banana Bread

I got this recipe from a wonderful woman. This is by far the best banana bread I have ever tasted. I love the fact it is a little denser than cake. SO good. I know you will love it. The walnuts are optional but I always put them in.

Serves:
3 loaf pans or 1 -9x13

Ingredients

1/2 lb
butter
1 1/2 c
sugar
4
eggs
1 1/2 tsp
vanilla
3 c
mashed bananas
2 1/2 c
flour, sifted
2 tsp
baking soda, sifted
1 tsp
salt
1 c
walnuts, finely chopped (optional)

Step-By-Step

1Cream the butter and sugar together. When creamy, add the eggs(one at a time) and vanilla. Mix well. Add massed bananas, alternately with the flour, bkg soda and salt. Lastly stir in the walnuts.
2Pour into prepared cake or loaf pans. Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until it pulls away from pan. Cool then serve with butter if you like. Wrapped properly these loaves freeze well. You could also try macadamia nuts and/ or raisins.
