1 1/2 cboiling water

How To Make spoon bread

1Combine the cornmeal and butter in a medium bowl. Add the boiling water, stirring until the butter melts. Cool to room temperature.

2Combine the sugar, baking powder, and salt; add to the cornmeal mixture, stirring well.

3Combine the milk and eggs, stirring with a wire whisk until blended. Add the milk mixture to the cornmeal mixture. Stir well.

4Pour the batter into a lightly greased 1 1/2-quart casserole. Bake at 375 degrees F for 30 to 35 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
