BASIC STUFFING

8 c
soft bread crumbs
1/2 c
butter (or sausage drippings)
1 large
onion, grated
1 1/2 tsp
salt
1/4 tsp
pepper

PORK SAUSAGE STUFFING

1/2 lb
pork sausage
basic stuffing mix

SAGE STUFFING

2 1/4 tsp
sage
basic stuffing mix

SAVORY STUFFING

3/4 tsp
thyme
3/4 tsp
marjoram
3/4 tsp
sage
basic stuffing mix

Directions Step-By-Step

Basic Stuffing:
Tear or grate bread.( if using crusts, cut into fine shreds.)
Mix together crumbs and soft butter, onion, salt and pepper. Add desired seasonings.
Toss together lightly

Pork Sausage Stuffing;
Brown sausage over medium heat, breaking apart with fork.
(Sausage drippings can be used in basic stuffing mixture).
Add sausage to basic stuffing mixture and mix well.

Sage Stuffing:
Add to basic stuffing mixture; mix well.

Savory Stuffing:
Add seasonings to basic stuffing mixture; mix well.

Note: A one pound loaf of bread makes about 10 cups of bread crumbs.
