Cocoa Bread with Stewed Peaches

Ingredients

1 c
boiling water
1/2 c
butter, melted
1/2 c
molasses
1/2 c
sugar
2
large eggs, lightly beaten
2 c
self rising flour
1/2 tsp
baking soda
1/4 c
unsweetened cocoa
1 tsp
cinnamon
6 c
peaches, peeled and sliced
3/4 c
sugar
1/2 c
water

Step-By-Step

1Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour Ann 8 inch square pan.
2Whisk together first 4 ingredients, let cool. Whisk in eggs. Sift next 4 ingredients together and whisk into egg mixture. Pour into pan and bake 30 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
3Meanwhile, cook peaches. Bring peaches, 3/4 cup sugar, and 1/2 cup water to boil over medium heat and stir until sugar dissolved. Reduce heat to low and simmer 10 minutes.
