Cream Cheese Sausage Balls

The cream cheese makes these sausage balls moist and tender.

Ingredients

1 lb
sausage, uncooked (i use mild or medium)
8 oz
cream cheese, softened
1 1/4 c
bisquick mix
4 oz
cheddar cheese, shredded

Directions Step-By-Step

Mix all ingredients until well combined.

Roll into 1-inch balls.

Bake in 400 degree oven for 20-25 minutes, or until brown.

Eat plain or serve with your choice of dipping sauce.

When we had leftovers we were able to microwave them and they were still moist and yummy :) I would use a lower power level on the microwave, if you are able to...this helps them to retain more of their moistness...I would also cover them while you reheat them, possibly with a damp paper towel to keep more of the humidity in.

I have a question: I would like to make these for work. From the comments, I understand that I can assemble the mix, roll the balls, freeze it and then bake when I need them. If I baked them in the evening and then brought them into work the next day for a potluck, would I be able to heat them up in a microwave? Or can I gently heat them up in a crockpot, on low, for a couple of hours?

Does anyone have leftovers, if so, how do you reheat them?

These are the best sausage balls I have ever eaten! Thank you so much for sharing your recipe with us :) The cream cheese made such a huge difference - these were so moist and flavorful! The yield was about 30, but I did generous sized balls, probably just a little over 1-inch, each ;) I used Philadelphia brand cream cheese, Jimmy Dean SAGE sausage (sage is all I use now - looove it!!), 3/4 cup Walmart Great Value brand mild cheddar, and the regular Bisquick mix. These baked for about 25 minutes. Oh, and I baked them on parchment paper - the small amount of grease that came out of a few of them rolled right away from the balls. I will be adding these to my appetizer/breakfast/brunch arsenal

I made these last year for Chritmas, they were wonderful, gots lots of compliments , hoe moist they were, will be making them again this year.

How do I store these? In a bag at room temperature or in fridge?
