Ingredients For bonnie's simple old-fashioned meatballs

    lean ground beef
  • 1/3 c
    finely chopped sweet onion
  • 1
    egg, slightly beaten
  • 1/4 c
    canned milk
  • 1/2 c
    dry breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp
    Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp
    kosher salt
  • 1 tsp
    coarse ground black pepper

    Don't overmix the meatballs or they will be tough. Mix the meat with the onions,

    beaten egg,

    canned milk,

    breadcrumbs, and then add the Worcestershire and seasonings.

    Form the balls. I use a small scoop. Don't pack the meat in the scoop. Keep the meat loose as you form the ball. This makes tender balls when they cook.

    Cook the balls on a greased sheet pan lined with foil. Bake in a 375 degree F oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Don't over cook or over brown the meatballs.
