Ingredients

1 stick
butter, room temperature
8 slice
firm white bread
8 oz
greyere cheese, thin slice
8 slice
smoked slice ham

Step-By-Step

1PREHEAT THE BROILER. BUTTER THE BREAD ON BOTH SIDES. TOP 4 SLICES OF BREAD WITH 8 THIN SLICES, OF GREYERE, FOLLOWED BY ALL 8 SLICES OF HAM. FINISH WITH THE REMAINING 4 BREAD SLICES ON TOP OF CHEESE.
2PUT THE CROQUES MONSIEUR ONTO A BAKING SHEET, AND UNDER THE BROILER FOR 5 TO 8 MINUTES. FLIP THE BREAD OVER AND BROWN THE OTHER SIDE. REMOVE FROM THE BROILER AND IMMEDIATELY TRIM OFF THE CRUST. CUT EACH SANDWICH INTO EIGHT PIECES.
3IF YOU PLAN TO MAKE AHEAD THEY CAN BE LAID BETWEEN PARCHMENT PAPER AND REFRIGERATE.
