CHICKEN WON TON APPETIZER

THIS APPETIZER IS GOOD AT DOING THE DISAPPEARING ACT!. LOVE FRIED WONTON, AND NEEDED SOMETHING FOR A PARTY, SO JUST THREW SOME "STUFF" TOGETHER. THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN TOO GOOD, BUT TAKE A LITTLE EXTRA TIME----FRYING IS THE BIGGEST PAIN FOR ME, BUT CAN BE MADE A DAY OR SO AGEAD, THEN HEATED IN THE OVEN. STILL BETTER MADE AND EATEN FRESH FROM THE FRYING PAN!! ALL THE AMOUNTS CAN BE ADJUSTED, DEPENDING ON HOW MANY OF THESE GOODIED YOU NEED, AND DEPENDING ON HOW SPICY YOU LIKE. BEING A PINCH HERE, AND OH, THIS WOULD BE GOOD IN HERE, COOK, IT'S HARD TO PIN DOWN AMOUNTS. I LIKE SURPRISES.

won ton skins

chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
8 oz
softened cream cheese
1 small
can diced chiles, ortega
1/4 Tbsp
minced fresh onion (optional)
salt and pepper, to taste
fres italian parsley, or cilantro, to taste
crisco, for frying

Directions Step-By-Step

COOK CHICKEN (CAN BE POACHED, SAUTEED,OR BAKED). SEASON CHICKEN, AS DESIRED. SHRED OR CHOP CHICKEN. THE AMOUNT DEPENDS ON HOW MANY APPETIZERS YOU WANT TO SERVE.

OPEN WON TON SKINS, BUT KEEP COVERED TO KEEP FROM DRYING OUT. MIX THE CREAM CHEESE, CHILES, AND SEASON (CAN ADD HOT SAUCE TO THE MIX, SOMETIMES I ADD FRESH ITLIAN PARSLEY, OR CITANTRO, CHOPPED).

START HEARTING CRISCO (I USE ELECTRIC SKILLET, SET ON ALMOST HIGHEST,BUT ADJUST). TO ASSEMBLE, PUT A SMALL AMOUNT OF CHICKEN, THEN ADD THE CREAM CHEESE MIX. BE CAREFUL NOT TO OVERLOAD. SEAL EDGES WITH EGG WHITE MIXED WITH WATER, OR JUST WATER. FRY TILL GOLDEN BROWN, AND DRAIN ON PAPER TOWELS. (TRY NOT TO EAT THEM ALL!). CAN BE HEATED IN HOT OVEN JUST 5-10 MINUTES JUST BEFORE SERVING. CAN BE SERVED WITH GUACAMOLE, SALSA, OR HOT SAUCE.
