Place sliced cucumbers and onions in dish and cover with ice cubes and 1 quart water. Let stand in refrigerator for 3 hours to make sure they are crisp.
Mix vinegar, tumeric, celery seed and mustard seed together and bring to a boil.
Take cucumbers and onions out of water and simmer in vinegar mixture for 10 minutes.
Place in jars and cover with liquid.
Seal jars. Always refrigerate before eating.
