Those who complain of a watery result can probably blame their crockpots. I watched America's Test Kitchen last week and they tested slowcookers. Their main reason for not recommending some is that the temperature did not hold in many of them, including the "Crockpot" brand! The high setting is supposed to retain 190 degrees. I do not remember the low setting requirement. Anyway, those of you who think you've failed should look at your unit and even measure the interior temperature and match it against industry standards, which are probably posted somewhere online. I do remember winner of the test was the most expensive: Cuisinart--of course. ;o)

Made this last weekend. It was wonderful !!!!! I am an ol southern lady who smokes ribs and bbq's a lot. My husband and father loved it. I did use light brown sugar and only half of the peper flakes. It was spicy ! For easy cleanup, use a crockpot liner. Just use and toss. I will make this again and again.
