What a great way to start the day! When you hear "Snickerdoodle" you think COOKIE, but this recipe is turning that notion on its ear! Not only do these muffins have that great Snickerdoodle taste, but they also have the healthy addition of oatmeal. Snickerdoodle lovers rejoice!

Directions
mix all dry ingredients together, flour,oats,1/2 cup of sugar
Mix together egg, butter and vanilla and milk
add wet mixture to dry mixture, mix until everything is mixed well.
fill muffin cups 2/3 of the way full. Bake at 400 for 12-14 minutes.
While baking mix the topping together, 1/3 cup of sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. once muffins are out put topping on muffins. If you prefer a lot of topping brush a little melted butter ontop of muffin to get more of the topping to stick.

The muffins were great. I did include the milk with the other wet ingredients and used paper cups to line my tins. Next time I'll skip the paper as the muffins really stuck tight. Non stick tins are a really good idea.

Just made these tonight as dessert and they were great! I also added some of the sugar-cinnamon mixture into the half filled cups. Love the oatmeal in them! I think these will be much healthier than our usual granola bar!

I made these and I really think something was missing. Muffins were to dense and the recipe was hard to follow.

They are dense but that's because of the oats I think. More milk would make them more cake like. I had put extra cinnamon & sugar in the middle but really didn't need the extra sugar. They were plenty sweet enough!

I just made the muffins and I have to say if i wasn't a seasoned baker I would have thrown the batter away. I read the recipe three times then realized the milk needed to go in the batter. I hope they come out okay.

Just made the muffins. Loved them, but think the next time I will spoon some of the sugar/cinnamon on top before I cook them, as others have suggested. Can't wait to have one (or two) with my morning coffee tomorrow. ;-)
