Directions
Preheat oven to 350F.Mix together dry cake mix, butter, and 2 eggs and press into a greased 9" x 13" cake pan, pushing the sides up slightly to hold the filling.For filling: Mix cream cheese, remaining 2 eggs, and powdered sugar, till smooth.Pour filling into crust and bake for 35 minutes.Let cool. Serve at room temperature. Store in refrigerator.

Hi Shelly, I see you are from Alton IL and I was going to comment that this Gooey Butter cake, not the cake mix recipe, originated in St. Louis MO. When I moved to MI in the 70's I couldn't find it anywhere. When we came back to the St. Louis area, this recipe was being shared by everyone. It truly is a good recipe and have made it many many times. It is definitely a 5 star and a Blue Ribbon recipe. Thanks for sharing.
