This recipe is from the Tinsley House Cookbook. The Tinsley House is an old farm house that's part of the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman, MT. I made these biscuits for the first time recently and they are by far the best biscuits I've ever had!

Ingredients
- - preheat oven to 400 degrees f.
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon plus 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 - egg, beaten
- 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons milk
How To Make mile high biscuits

Step 1Combine dry ingredients and cut in butter with pastry blender.

Step 2Combine egg and milk. Add to dry ingredients and stir until well moistened.

Step 3Knead 10 times. Roll out 1" inch, cut with 2 1/2" cutter.

Step 4Bake on non-greased cookie sheet until done 12-15 minutes.
