The mix of fruits in this recipe is so fabulously scrumptious... Perfectly sweet and flaky.


4-5 c
sliced fresh peaches
1 c
sliced fresh strawberries
1/2 c
granulated sugar
1/4 c
2 c
all purpose flour
1 tsp
2/3 cup +2tbsp. butter flavor crisco
1/4 c
cold water

Directions Step-By-Step

Mix flour, salt and crisco with fork or pastry blender until resembles meal consistency. Add cold water and mix - form into two equal size patties and refrigerate for about 1/2 hour. Roll out and form into pie dish.
Add filling and lay top crust over pie. Seal by folding top edge over bottom edge and decorate edge with fork. Bake at 375 for 40 minutes. Cool completely before cutting. Serve with ice cream or whip cream.

I do the same only with peaches and raspberries. It is my hubby's favorite!

Hi Jacklyn...I grew up in Girard but have lived in Rochester, NY for 30+ years now. It's nice to see someone from my hometown area on here. The recipe sounds great and just in time for fresh strawberry season!

I have had Great success over the years by using Tapioco to thicken my fruit pies. Cherry pies are perfect for slicing every time. No skins on Peaches !
