Hope's Notes:

Being born in Georgia myself, I have a soft spot for southern food not just because it's all so yummy, but because its very nostalgic for me. This is TRULY the most amazing, most delicious and seriously the most easiest peach cobbler recipe you will EVER stumble upon! You cannot go wrong with just 4 ingredients! You will oooh and awe your guests with this southern treat. Nice and crisp ontop and hot and gooey inside! Serve with vanilla ice cream for the ultimate treat! This is best served hot! For leftovers, store in the fridge and reheat in microwave or oven! I guarantee you will LOVE it!

Directions

1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a medium-size mixing bowl coarsely mix 3/4 cup of the sugar, the flour, and 1/4 cup melted butter together. Sprinkle about one-third of this mixture on the bottom of a baking dish.
2
Add the peaches and juice. (If the juice from the peaches does not cover the peaches, add a small amount of water just to cover the peaches. Too little liquid will make the cobbler dry. Too much liquid will make it soupy.)
3
Top the peaches with the remaining sugar/flour mixture in an 8x8 pan. Sprinkle the top with the remaining 2 tablespoons sugar and the remaining 1/4 cup butter. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until brown and bubbly. Serve hot!

***HINT: Fresh peaches can be used. When using fresh peaches, peel and slice them, sprinkling the slices with an additional 1/2 cup sugar. Refrigerate them for 2 to 3 hours before using.

***ALSO: If you do not have self-rising flour, you may substitute all-purpose flour. For every 1 cup of self-rising flour needed mix together:

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda

I'm BIG peach cobbler fan but I'm clueless when it comes to making one myself. Every one I have ever tried to make so far hasn't come out any good. I am 15 min. into baking this recipe as I type and it's lookin' REALLY GOOD so far! I hope this is the one? I'll let you know how it comes out.

oh awesome! Ya I hope you absolutely love this recipe because it is the best one I have tried thus far! Its not real "heavy" either... it's got a fluffy lightness to it with a slight crisp and hot gooey center! I bet it is divine with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Ya let me know how it turns out! Thanks Christina!

Hand's down...the best ever...thanks to you! It's just what I've been looking for. My hubby and I had it with a scoop of vanilla frozen yogurt and it was delicious. We now have the perfect recipe for peach cobbler that we can use for years to come. Thank you, The Mendoza-Vasquez Family

i'm so GLAD Christina that it came out so good for you & your hubby! When I first found this recipe I was questioning if it would be good cause it had only 4 ingredients but when I made it for my hubby & I we were hooked and couldnt believe how delicious it was! Got this from a southern restaurant cookbook that my mom gave me called "The Blue Willow Inn" that is in Savannah, GA... so it really is a southern Georgia treat! We will use this recipe for the rest of our lives! :D ***Teresa, thank you and no problem! This truly is the best recipe for Peach Cobbler!***

We are having family over this weekend and I'm going to try this, however, there is no information as to what size of pan to use? I'm assuming small, like 9x11 or something?

I am making this right now. I used fresh Chilton County (Alabama) that were picked this week. I blanched and diced them and let them set for just a few minutes with 1/2 cup sugar. It sure smells good in here!
