Ingredients For honey baked ham

  • 10-12 lb
    uncooked shank portion ham
  • 3 Tbsp
    Dijon mustard
  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 1/2 c
    honey
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon

How To Make honey baked ham

  • Skin and fat removed from the ham.

    Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Remove the skin and most of the excess fat. Leave a layer of fat, though, to render while the ham bakes.
  • Scoring the ham.

    Score ham in a diamond pattern. This looks nice but also allows the fat to render while cooking.
  • Ham in a roasting pan.

    Place scored ham in a roasting pan.
  • Ham baking in the oven.

    Bake for 20 minutes per pound until the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F.
  • Mustard, brown sugar, honey, and cinnamon in a bowl.

    While the ham is baking, make the glaze. Mix remaining ingredients together.
  • Spreading glaze onto the ham.

    During the last 45 minutes of cooking time, spread the glaze over the ham.
  • Letting the ham rest.

    Remove ham from the oven and let rest.
