Directions
In bowl, dump dry cake mix, eggs and pie filling. Stir together until well mixed. Bake in greased 9x13, 350 degrees for 35 minutes or test with toothpick for doneness.NOTE: Pair flavors of cake mix and pie filling. Apple filling with maybe butter pecan cake mix. Cherry pie filling with a devil's food cake mix, etc. I enjoy a pineapple cake mix with blueberry filling.FOR AN EXTRA INCH TO THE HIPS: Chop room temp cream cheese into chunks. Poke the chunks randomly into the batter after pouring it in the baking pan. Make sure the cheese is in deep. Continue to bake. I do this with a strawberry cake mix and strawberry filling and also the blueberry filling.

I just made this cake and had a big piece. Wonderful! I am particularly impressed with the fact that it does not contain oil in the recipe, and it doesn't even need it. It took me less than five minutes to have it in the oven. So easy! This is my "Go to" recipe forever! I can't wait to try the other cakes that you suggested. Thanks for posting this great time-saving and tasty recipe!

I'm so glad you liked it Bonnie. I have a cake recipe that is MY go to cake. It's the Moist Cake Recipe of mine. Take a plain old cake mix, make as directed and add 1 Cup Buttermilk and a small box of pudding mix to the batter. I use a pudding mix flavor that matches the cake flavor...like Pumpkin Spice Pudding mix with the spice cake, or Butterscotch pudding mix with the spice cake mix....etc. The real good one is the strawberry cake mix with a cheesecake pudding mix....and a cherry cake mix with a pistachio pudding mix. Make SURE THE PUDDING MIX IS INSTANT. Add raisins, walnuts, etc. to a spice cake then and it's delicious.

Hi Jane Louise! I've been doing this for years with a chocolate cake mix and cherry pie filling. If you haven't tried it, give it a shot...sooooo delish. I also use only 1 egg instead of 3. This makes for a more dense cake. I've also made it eliminating the eggs completely and using sour cream instead. Makes dense and gooey cake.
