My grandmother used to make this for us on a cold day, it sticks to your ribs and is also a great potluck item!

Ingredients For grandma's crockpot beans

  • 1 lb
    hamburger
  • 1 pkg
    bacon, cooked
  • 2 can
    baked beans
  • 2 can
    kidney beans, canned
  • 1 can
    black-eyed peas
  • 1 can
    chick peas
  • 1 bottle
    barbecue sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    yellow mustard
  • 1-4 c
    brown sugar

How To Make grandma's crockpot beans

    put baked beans into crockpot
  • 2
    drain the kidney, black beans and chick peas, add to crockpot
  • 3
    add whole bottle barbecue sauce (i prefer honey bbq sauce)

    add mustard, stir
  • 5
    brown hamburger, drain and add to crockpot
  • 6
    cut bacon into chucks, cook and use a spatula to transfer to crockpot, a little grease adds to the flavor

    add 1 to 2 cups brown sugar, after it cooks a bit you can add more for a sweeter taste.

    Note: I cook this on low for 3-4 hours, if you leave the crockpot on high it can burn your beans
