Ingredients For italian turkey meat loaf

  • 1 lg
    egg
  • 1 can
    (14 1/2 oz) diced tomatoes with italian herbs, undrained
  • 1/2 c
    finely chopped onions
  • 1/2 c
    cup quick cooking oaks
  • 1/3 c
    grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/3 c
    chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp
    pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 12 oz
    italian turkey sausage, remove from casings
  • 1/2 lb
    lean ground turkey
  • 1/3 c
    cup spaghetti sauce (i find a sauce that fits the italian theme. usually a herb sauce)

How To Make italian turkey meat loaf

    Heat oven to 375F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with non-stick foil.

    Beat egg in large bowl; stir in half the tomatoes, the onion, oats, cheese, parsley, pepper and salt. Using you hands, mix in sausage and ground turkey until blended. Put on lined pan and pat into a 9 x 4 1/2 inch loaf.

    Bake 45 minutes or until a meat thermometer inserted in center registers 160F. Remove from oven, brush loaf with spaghetti sauce and bake 10 minutes or until sauce looks set. Let stand 10 minutes before slicing.

    Meanwhile heat remaining canned tomatoes and serve with meat loaf.
