cabbage roll casserole

Tastes just like Cabbage Rolls except you don't have to spend all the time rolling them up. I always add a bag of sauerkraut (drained) to mine.

Ingredients For cabbage roll casserole

  • 1 Qt can
    tomato juice
  • 1 med
    cabbage head
  • 3 lbs
    ground beef
  • 1lb
    sausage
  • 1 lg
    onion
  • 1cup
    minute rice
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 lg
    green bell pepper, diced

How To Make cabbage roll casserole

  • 1
    Mix all ingredients except cabbage & tomato sauce.

    Cut cabbage into bite size pieces. Put a layer in bottom of large pan and then layer meat mixture. Keep doing this till you use up all the cabbage and meat mixture .Keep a Layer cabbage for the top.

    Pour tomato juice over top of cabbage. Cover and cook on medium heat 2 1/2 hrs to 3 hrs. Until meat is done.
