Has been a family favorite for 15 years. My husband has never been a fan of stew until I found this recipe.

Ingredients For skillet chicken stew

1/3 call-purpose flour

1/2 tspsalt

dashpepper
-
1 1/2 lbboneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into 1 in. pieces

3 Tbspbutter

1 mdonion, sliced
-
3celery ribs, sliced
-
2 mdpotatoes, peeled and cut into 3/4 inch cubes

3 mdcarrots, cut into 1/4 inch slices

1 cchicken broth
-
1/2 tspdried thyme
-
1 Tbspketchup
-
1 Tbspcornstarch
How To Make skillet chicken stew

1In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the flour, salt and pepper. Add chicken, a few pieces at a time, and shake to coat.

2In a large skillet, melt butter; cook chicken until chicken juices to run clear.

3Add onion and celery; cook for 3 minutes. Stir in potatoes and carrots.

4In a small bowl, combine the broth, thyme, ketchup and cornstarch; stir into skillet.

5Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the vegetables are tender.
