1.5 lbground beef

2egg yolks

1 tspservings instant mashed potatoes

1 Tbspbutter

8 slicesharp cheese

2/3 cmilk

1egg, lighly beaten

1/4 tsppepper

1/2 tspbutter, crumbled

2 Tbspinstant minced onion

1.5 csoft bread crumbs

1/4 cmilk
How To Make lincoln's birthday meat log

1Mix together beef, bread crumbs, onion, margarine, salt and pepper.

2Beat egg until bubbly.

3Add 2/3 cups milk to meat mixture and mix gently but thoroughly.

4Shape into 9x12\" rectangle on wax paper.

5Using paper to lift meat, roll into 9\" cylinder.

6Place on a shallow pan and bake at 350 for 45 minutes.

7Prepare instant potatoes.

8Add butter, onions and salt to potatoes.

9Beat egg yolks.

10Add milk to potatoes.

11Take meat loaf out of oven and frost with mashed potatoes.

12Return to oven 10 minutes longer.

13Place cheese on top and put under broiler until cheese melts.
