My Mom's recipe for pecan tarts, uses cream cheese in the crust..and yummy pecans and brown sugar in the fillintg...a family favorite on holidays for many, many years. (I use this crust and fill them with the Lemon Curd..soo good..see my recipe for lemon curd :)But need to pre-bake shells for approx 15-20 min. when filling does not need to be baked)

Ingredients For pecan tarts

1 stickbutter
-
3 oz.cream cheese

1 csifted flour
-
*********above is for the crust....

1egg

1 Tbspmelted butter
-
dash of salt
-
1/2 tspvanilla

1/2 cchopped pecans

3/4 cpacked light brown sugar
How To Make pecan tarts

1for crust..... let butt soften, add cream chees and work until smooth and creamy. Add flour gradually & blend. Pinch off small pieces of dough and form 1" balls, put each into small "tea cup" baking pans, With floured finger press dough down and against sides of cups evenly.

2Filling: Beat eggs with fork enough to mix yolk with white Add sugar gradually, beating well after each addition. AAddmelted butter, salt, and vanilla. Mix well

3To assemble: Sprinkle a few of the chopped pecans into dough lined cups. spoon filloing over the nuts until cups are 2/3 full. sprinkle rest of the nuts on top.

4Bake 350 degree oven 20 min. Cool.... then remove carefully from pan, with a thin knife tip. Can be served with a bit of whipped topping or plain. ** You may freeze after baked, and warmed slightly after thawing****
