Mom used this icing on her apple cake and others. It is rich and the browned butter flavor makes it so different. Not low calorie, however. hehe

butter, no substitute

powdered sugar
1 tsp

vanilla
3 Tbsp

How To Make mom's browned butter icing

Melt butter in medium-sized sauce pan, stirring. Continue to cook at medium heat until butter is golden brown. Remove from heat. Gradually stir in powdered sugar, then vanilla and milk. Spread on cooled cake while frosting is still warm.
