I created this after growing weary of fig preserves every year. Very tasty but also healthy!

Ingredients For fig crispies

1 cbrown sugar

1 cbutter (do not substitute)

1egg
-
2 cwheat flour
-
1 tspbaking soda

1 tspbaking powder
-
1 tspsea salt
-
1/2 tspground cloves
-
1 1/2 cchopped fresh figs
-
1/2 cchopped pecans (walnuts would also be good or optional)
How To Make fig crispies

1Cream: brown sugar & butter, in medium bowl add egg

2Sift together: wheat flour, soda, baking powder, sea salt and cloves. Add to cream mixture

3Fold in figs & nuts if using. If mixture is dry, do not worry about this. Cool in fridge for apprx 20 mins. This is when I clean up & get my cooling racks ready.

4Form into small balls (not quite an inch, they will rise). Roll in confectioners sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet place 2 inches apart. Bake at 350 for 20 mins. Cook completely.
