This recipe comes from a 1968 recipe book titled,"Favorite Recipes From Church of GOD Ladies". Each of the recipes has the ladies' name and home town and I will include this with the recipe and if you know or are related to this person, I would really like to know. The recipes I post from this cookbook are ones I have tried and really like or are unusual due to ingredients or possibly due to the number of recipes with the same name but are different in some way. I hope you enjoy. I know some the recipes are really lacking in some or all areas, but I am posting them as they are in the cookbook

1 cbutter

2 csugar

2eggs, well beaten

1 tspcinnamon

1 tspallspice

1 tspbaking soda

1 cbuttermilk
-
2 1/2 to 3 scoopflour

4 Tbspcocoa
-
1 craisins
-
1 cstrawberry jam
-
1 Tbspvanilla

1 ccoconut
-
1 cchopped nuts

1 dashdiced apple

1/4 tspsalt
- ICING:
-
1 cmilk
-
1 1/2 csugar

1 tspflour
-
2eggs
-
1 cchopped nuts

1 craisins

1 ccoconut

1 tspvanilla
How To Make jo's jam cake (#7)

1CAKE: Cream butter and sugar;

2Add eggs and next 3 ingredients.

3Dissolve baking soda in buttermilk; add to sugar mixture.

4Combine flour and cocoa;

5Add to sugar mixture along with remaining ingredients; beat well.

6Pour into tube pan.

7Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.

8ICING: Combine first 4 ingredients; cook until thick.
