Directly from the package of Knorrs/Liptons Vegetable Recipe Mix. You just can't beat it. This is one of the few recipes I make that I haven't tweaked in some way.

Ingredients For spinach dip (sallye)

  • 1 pkg
    frozen chopped spinach (10 oz.)
  • 16 oz
    sour cream
  • 1 c
    myonnaise (i use duke's)
  • 1 pkg
    knorrs/lipton vegetable recipe mix
  • 1 can
    water chestnuts (8 oz)
  • 3
    green onions

How To Make spinach dip (sallye)

    Thaw and drain spinach, squeeze as dry as possible Drain water chestnuts and finely chop in food processor Thinly slice green onions

    Place sour cream and mayonnaise in mixing bowl Using wooden spoon or wire whisk, add vegetable mix and blend well Add spinach, chestnuts and onions and continue to mix until well blended

    Chill in refrigerator for at least one hour before serving.

    OPTIONS FOR SERVING: Place round loaf of bread on serving tray and scoop out the insides, leaving a bread "bowl". Transfer the spinach dip into the bread "bowl". Tear the removed bread into bite sized pieces and place on the serving tray beside the bread bowl. Serve with your choice of crackers, or chips (see comments for link to homemade chips).
