This is a soup I guarantee you will not be able to eat just one bowl of. I know there are many versions of this old recipe, but this is mine.

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2 c
    red onion, chopped
  • 1-1/2 c
    carrots, cut into bite sized chunks
  • 2 c
    raw potatoes, cut bite size
  • 1
    green pepper
  • 1 can(s)
    tomato sauce (15 oz.)
  • 1 can(s)
    diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 3
    whole bay leaves
  • 2
    beef bouillon cubes dissolved in 1/2 c water
  • 1/2 tsp
  • ·
    salt and pepper
  • 1 c
    frozen corn

How to Make Kitty's Hamburger Soup


  1. Brown ground beef and onions
  2. Stir in tomatoes, tomato sauce, spices, Worcestershire sauce and liquid bouillon
  3. heat through then add the fresh vegetables.
  4. Cook covered on medium heat till vegetables are tender but still firm and colorful.
  5. Add frozen corn and cook till warmed through. Do not over cook
