Ingredients For dehydrating tomatoes

  • 20 md
    tomatoes
  • boiling water
  • cold water

How To Make dehydrating tomatoes

  • 1
Put whole tomatoes into boiling water for about 30 seconds to 1 minute
  • 2
I do them in a batch of 6 and take them out of the boiling water as soon as I see 1 of their skins split. I like to stir them in slow circles so they dont sit on the hot metal pan and they move around so I can see when the skins split.
  • 3
put them immediatly into a sink full of cold water. when all tomatoes have cooled in the sink of cold water, simply peel their skins right off them!
  • 4
Slice 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick carefully with sharp knife, this is tricky as they are slippery little suckers when their naked!
  • 5
place slices on your dehydrating trays and dehydrate for about 9 hours. You may have to give or take a few hours depending on how juicy your tomatoes are! Store in kerr jar's or airtight containers. Once you reintroduce them to you liquid in soups or stews they puff right back up and taste like a tomato!!
