Slow Cooker Crock Pot

Ingredients

  • 1 lb
    bacon , chopped and fried
  • 2 Tbsp
    bacon fat
  • 1 1/2 c
    celery chopped a little larger
  • 1 1/4 c
    onions and bell pepper chopped a little larger
  • 6 clove
    garlic
  • 3-4 bag(s)
    black eyed peas frozen
  • 2 can(s)
    tomatoes stewed
  • 1 can(s)
    beef consomme
  • 1/4 c
    green sauce
  • ·
    salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Black Eyed Pea Gumbo

Step-by-Step

  1. Cook black eyed peas according to package. Add all ingredients to Crock Pot. (be careful not to add too much water, just til soupy.
  2. Cook on low for 8 hours.
  3. Variation: Change frozen black eyed peas for 4 cans black eyed peas and cook all in Dutch oven. Simmer for 1 hour.
