The day before grocery shopping is the clean out the cabinets day, which always brings interesting creations. This is a super easy fix that anyone who can work a can opener can make in a flash. The three ingredients are great combined together. The soup can be dressed up with accompaniments such as shredded cheese, chopped onions, sour cream, tortilla chips, crumbled bacon, etc....

How to Make 3 Can Soup

Step-by-Step

  1. Combine beans, stewed tomatoes. Drain corn and mix in with the others. Heat on stove top until warm.
  2. If Southwestern beans are not available, add chili powder and cumin to plain black beans to taste. Stewed tomatoes work best, as their flavor is already developed and doesn't need cooking.
  3. The basic mix is great on its own. I serve it with warm tortillas. Other additions such as onions, cilantro, sour cream, or shredded cheese can be added individually.
