I love goat cheese, I love basil, I love small appetizers and cheese balls. Being a food blogger, recipe developer, and retired pastry chef means 3 things...I'm always in the kitchen when I should be sleeping, I spend a small fortune on groceries, and I spend my days on the computer.
Well, back to the subject at hand, Basil Goat Cheese Balls, I can pretty well make a cheese ball out of anything and everything. Cheese balls are easy to put together, they're always a hit at any party and homemade is much better than store bought.

Makes 16 to 18 Cheese Balls

  • 1 can(s)
    white beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1
    log of goat cheese
  • ·
    zest of 1 lemon
  • ·
    salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 bunch
    fresh basil leaves, finely chopped

How to Make Basil Goat Cheese Balls


  1. Mix the beans together with goat cheese in a food processor.
  2. Add the lemon zest and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Roll into walnut sized balls and place on a platter.
  4. Chop basil finely and roll the balls in it.
  5. Refrigerate until firm or ready to use.
  6. Serve with good quality water crackers and toasted baguette slices.
