This is a very old recipe , it came from my Great Grandma Roupe.

An EXCELLENT sauce for carmel corn.

Ingredients

  • 2 c
    light brown sugar
  • 2 stick
    margarine
  • 1/2 c
    white karo syrup
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1 tsp
    soda
  • 8 qt
    popped hull-less super popcorn

How to Make Carmel Corn

Step-by-Step

  1. Bring to boil on LOW heat : brown sugar , margarine and Karo syrup. Bring to boil for 5 minutes , stirring constantly
  2. Remove from heat and add the vanilla and soda ; STIR WELL.
  3. Coat a large bowl of popped popcorn ( or more if desired )
  4. Place in a 2" deep sheet ( I use a aluminum turkey pan ).
  5. Bake @ 250° for 1 hour ; stirring every 15 minutes.
