Everyone loves these along with my sugared pecans. These walnuts are a little different, though. It's a different nut for one thing, so that adds a different flavor. I add allspice to these too. They're both great anytime, but especially for the holidays. Hope you like them. Enjoy!

We absolutely adored these sugary, sweet, and lightly spiced walnuts. The walnuts are well coated with a delicious crust that pops in your mouth. These are a scrumptious snack and will also add a nice little crunch sprinkled over a salad.

Ingredients For sweet walnuts

  • 1
    egg white
  • 1 Tbsp
    water
  • 2 c
    walnut halves/pieces
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp
    allspice, ground

How To Make sweet walnuts

    Preheat oven to 350*.
  • Mixing egg whites and water in a bowl.

    In mixing bowl, whisk egg white and water until frothy.
  • Coating walnuts with the egg white mixture.

    Add walnuts; stir to coat completely.
  • Straining the walnuts of extra egg whites.

    Transfer walnuts to a strainer and allow to drain for about 5 minutes. (You could probably skip this part because I only get about 3-5 drops).
  • Sugar and seasonings combined in a resealable bag.

    Combine sugar and seasonings in a large resealable plastic bag: shake well to blend.
  • Adding walnuts to the resealable bag.

    Add walnuts. Shake to coat thoroughly.
  • Arranging walnuts on a baking sheet.

    Remove walnuts; arrange in a single layer on large parchment paper lined baking sheet.
  • Walnuts after they've baked in the oven.

    Bake 13-15 minutes, turning halfway through baking. Remove from oven; cool completely.
  • Sweet walnuts sprinkled over a salad.

    Sprinkle over a salad or enjoy as a snack!
