jeanne's fire crackers

Recipe by

I liked the original recipe for the Fire Crackers but I wanted a little more "kick" to mine. I added the flavors that I use on some of my other snack mixes and it turned out great. After they are ready, I put them in snack bags and give them as small treats to friends.

Ingredients For jeanne's fire crackers

  • 2 box
    mini saltine crackers
  • 1 pkg
    dry ranch dressing mix
  • 1 c
    canola oil
  • 2 Tbsp
    red pepper flakes
  • 1 Tbsp
    creole seasoning
  • 1 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder

How To Make jeanne's fire crackers

  • 1
Into a gallon zip lock bag, put everything except the crackers. (The pepper flakes will stick to the side of the zip lock bag, so you may want to add a little more than what you think you need.)
  • 2
Zip the bag and mix the ingredients with your hands by squeezing the bag a few times.
  • 3
Add both boxes of saltines. Zip and toss gently to coat evenly.
  • 4
Every 15 minutes or so, toss bag gently for the next hour or until crackers are coated.
  • 5
Let set several hours or overnight. You may put into another zip bag or other airtight container.
