This is so good! I make two flavors by adding the horseradish in the second half of the batch... You can switch the Snack Items for what ever kinds of snacks you like. This is great for parties and movie nights or Oscar Parties! This is not my own photo, it is a free stock photo from the internet, it is an example of what a version of the snack mix looks like.

Ingredients For some like it hot snack mix !!! (horseradish)

  • COATING
  • 1 1/2 c
    vegetable oil
  • 3
    (1 oz packages) hidden valley ranch dressing mix
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    horseradish sauce (all liquid sqeesed out in a paper towel)
  • SNACKS TO BE COATED
  • 1 pkg
    rye crackers
  • 1 pkg
    small prtetzels of choice
  • 1 box
    cheese-its crackers
  • 1 box
    goldfish or whale crackers
  • 1 box
    wheat crackers
  • 1 pkg
    oyster crackers
  • 2 - 3 c
    mixed nuts

How To Make some like it hot snack mix !!! (horseradish)

    Preheat oven to 200 degrees.

    Squeeze all of the liquid out of the horseradish sauce using paper towels. You want this as dry as possible! Set aside until needed.

    In huge bowl (a large roast pan works well): Mix together gently all of the Snacks To Be Coated.

    Drizzle the oil all over the Snacks To Be Coated. Stir around with your hands to coat snacks with oil.

    Sprinkle the snack items with dry Hidden Valley Ranch Mixes. Again gently stir with your hands to coat snacks

    Spread about half of this mixture onto baking sheets.

    Bake for 1 hour, stirring mixture up about every 10 minutes.

    Remove from oven. Completely cool. Put in zipper bags.

    Remember the other half of the Snacks To Be Coated? And the Horseradish? Well now is the time to work with that! Sprinkle the Horseradish all over the remaining ingredients. Stir gently with your hands to get all the coating on the snacks.

    Bake for 1 hour (maybe a bit longer), stirring every 10 minutes.

    Remove from oven. Completely cool. Put in zipper bags.

    This is time consuming, and worth the effort! *** I sometimes do this with Ruffled Potato Chips... just the chip... and so good!
