6-8 whole wheat lasagna noodles, prepared al dente according to package directions
1 lb extra lean ground beef or turkey
1 small onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 TBS Italian seasoning
1 tsp red pepper flakes
⅛ tsp salt
⅛ tsp pepper
10 asparagus spears, trimmed and chopped finely
15 ounces crushed tomatoes
3/4 cup skim ricotta cheese
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 egg white
6 TBS Parmesan cheese, grated
3 TBS fresh basil, chopped
