Ingredients For ~ tasty rice side ~

  • 1 c
    long grain rice, uncooked
  • 3 - 3 1/2 c
    water or chicken broth or as much needed for rice to become tender - chicken broth naturally will add more flavor.
  • 1 pkg
    onion soup mix
  • 12 oz
    mixed vegetables. frozen or favorite combination
  • 1 tsp
    garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 tsp
    dried parsley
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter

How To Make ~ tasty rice side ~

    In a large saucepan over medium heat bring rice, start with 3 cups liquid, garlic salt, pepper and soup mix to a boil.

    Once boiling add the frozen vegetables and bring to another boil...reduce heat to simmer, cover and cook another 15 - 20 minutes or until rice is cooked. Keep checking and add more water or broth as needed so the rice doesn't stick, but until tender.

    When rice is cooked, stir in butter and parsley. Serve hot as a side to just about any dish.
